    Product Introduction


    In the lithium‑ion battery industry, boehmite is primarily used for coating lithium‑battery separator membranes, edge coating of electrode sheets, and as a battery additive. As a separator‑coating material, compared with alumina, boehmite‑based coatings impart superior thermal stability, reduced thermal shrinkage, and enhanced electrolyte wettability to the coated separator, thereby improving insulation performance and reducing the risk of short circuits in lithium batteries. Moreover, owing to its lower hardness and density relative to alumina, boehmite can effectively reduce the overall weight of the coating material.

    Coating the edges of lithium‑battery electrode sheets with boehmite can prevent burrs generated during slitting from piercing the separator, thereby enhancing battery safety and yield. Moreover, owing to boehmite’s low magnetic impurity content, low water absorption, low bulk density, and low Mohs hardness, it helps improve the battery’s rate capability and cycle life, further boosting product yield.

    Boehmite ZKB131T for lithium‑ion battery coating: applicable coating thickness of 4 µm or greater.
    Boehmite ZKB331A for lithium‑ion battery separator coating: applicable coating thickness 2–4 µm.
    Boehmite ZKB332A for lithium‑ion battery separator coating: applicable coating thickness ≤ 2 μm.
